Let this sink in: A new CBS poll found that 68% of Americans say that the tax plan should NOT include health care repeal.
As the Washington Post said, a “deeply unpopular Congress aims to pass deeply unpopular bill for deeply unpopular president to sign.”
So why are Republicans in Congress blatantly disregarding their constituents and forcing a sneaky health care repeal into their tax bill? To give tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations, while middle-class families pay the price.
It’s no surprise that hard working Americans don’t like this bill. It would:
- Increase premiums by double digits
- Cut health coverage for 13 million Americans
- Trigger $25 billion in Medicare cuts.
The House and Senate are working out the differences between their two partisan versions of this bill, and they could push it to a final vote before the year runs out. If we’re going to stop this bill from getting to President Trump’s desk, we need your help.
Call your representative at 202-499-6670. Tell them to vote no on gutting health care, just to give tax breaks to corporate special interests and the wealthiest among us.
